Most work on sprayed coatings, pipe lagging and asbestos insulating board needs an HSE licence. Check the company is on the list of current licence holders that HSE links to.
Current licensed contractorsSurveys and testing
Ask whether the surveying organisation is accredited by UKAS for asbestos surveying, and whether samples go to a UKAS-accredited laboratory.
Search UKASPaperwork
Get a written quote that says what is included, how waste will be disposed of, and what report or certificate you will receive at the end.
